I’d also like additional information about your upcoming event in Warrenville IL. I am a local and would love to attend. Are you from the area? Perhaps you could unload some review gear on me =)
Coffee Brewing Secrets DVD is and hour+ of experts showing how to maximize brewing using the top methods. Auto drip, manual drip, vacuum, espresso and milk foaming are the core subjects. Oh, yes, and cupping/tasting coffee.
Our CoffeeCon event is February 25 at the IBEW here in Warrenville. I wanted to create the event I wish I had when I started researching coffee. It’s a way to try a lot of brewers, lots of different coffees, and even attend an on-site hands-on tutorial guided by experts. I wasted a lot of money early on expensive gear and coffees before I knew how to brew. I’m trying to save people money and give them a chance to sample – simple as that. We’ll have an onsite page and registration soon.

This one is full of sound and fury, signifying nothing. It burbles loudly for hours (literally) by the time it finishes heating the reservoir of water, and wastes so much in steam that only about half of the water actually makes it through. Perhaps for this reason, the reservoir lid has warped. Also, the pause and serve feature dribbles on the warming plate…a safety issue? Certainly a mess. I have cleaned it twice, using white vinegar according to directions, but it actually seemed to get worse each time. We had bought it several months before putting it into service, so it’s probably not returnable. At least it was cheap… I was surprised to see that a nearly identical unit, with a slightly different model number, received good reviews. One nice thing about it: the carafe doesn’t spill coffee all over when you pour!Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? |
im just wondering; Was the $1000 delonghi I bought with my mom worth it? its auto and has removeable parts… (not auto milk frother) ps: i spent 440$ on it and my mom payed the other half and the price went down to 750.
I have not reviewed it, but the question is: how do you like it? Does it produce an espresso or cappuccino that’s worthy to you? At this price point, most espresso machines do a credible job. The single greatest limitation in most espresso setups in this range is the grinder.
